U2 lead singer Bono (L) jokes with Apple's new U2 iPod and iPod Photo as he stands with Apple CEO Steve Jobs and U2 guitarist The Edge (R) during a news conference in San Jose, California, October 26, 2004. The special Edition U2 iPod, which can hold up to 5,000 songs, features a black enclosure with a red click wheel and custom engraving of U2 band member signatures. Apple Computer Inc. also rolled out the iPod Photo that allows users to view and share photos, a dramatic expansion that takes the popular digital music player into the multimedia realm, while spurring its rivalry with Microsoft Corp. and others. The new iPod Photo, which had been widely anticipated, is a multimedia device with a color screen and comes with 40 gigabytes or 60 gigabytes of storage -- two to three times more than the storage available on its most used music player.
