Hidden Message on Album Cover

Posted on Saturday, November 11 @ 12:51:00 CET by Macphisto

(NME.com) -- U2 have secreted a hidden message on the cover of their new album, 'ALL THAT YOU CAN'T LEAVE BEHIND'.

They have superimposed a biblical reference onto the corner of the cover photo, which was taken at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. On the electronic board on the left-hand side, you can see the letters J33-3. This is a reference to Jeremiah 33.3, which reads "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and hidden things which you have not known."

A spokesperson for the band told NME.COM that this was a deliberate reference, which the band asked their designer, Steve Averil to fix up. On the undoctored photo, the sign reads F21-36, indicating a series of check-in desks.

'All That You Can't Leave Behind', currently at Number One on the UK album chart, debuted at Number Three with sales in excess of 400,000 on the US chart this week.
