U2 to be inducted into UK Hall of Fame

(RTE.ie) -- U2 will be among the first five inductees to the new British Music Hall of Fame.

The Beatles, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley and Madonna are the other four artists who have been chosen for their impact on music and beyond.

The five were chosen by a panel which included George Martin, Trevor Nelson and Paul Gambaccini.

The Hall of Fame will honour important stars from the last five decades.

A series on the artists will also be running on Channel Four, which will allow viewers to vote for future inductees.
