Grammy nods for U2 and Chieftains

(RTE Interactive) -- Irish rockers U2 and trad musicians The Chieftains have received nominations for this year's Grammy Awards.
U2 are nominated for Best Rock Performance for the track 'Walk On'; the band won four prizes at last year's ceremony.
The Chieftains received two nominations, including Best Contemporary Folk Album for 'Down the Old Plank Road'.
The shortlists were dominated by eight artists - Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow, Eminem, Norah Jones, Ashanti, Avril Lavigne, Nelly and "neo-soul" artist Raphael Saadiq - who all received five nominations each.
The 45th Grammy Awards ceremony will be held at Madison Square Gardens on 23 February.
