(BBC News) -- The Rolling Stones were joined by Bono from U2 for a rousing run through It's Only Rock And Roll (But I Like It) in their Chicago concert on Monday, music website Launch.com reported.
But the Irish singer made no effort to steal the show, walking unannounced onto stage, singing the song and leaving without addressing the audience.
The crowd of 5,000 also heard a guest appearance by Dr John on piano for blues classic I Just Want To Make Love To You.
Bono was in Chicago for the filming of an Oprah Winfrey show about his lobbying over developing world issues.
The Rolling Stones' 40th anniversary tour is now in Philadelphia for three nights.
