U2 are singled out

(Dailyrecord.co.uk) -- U2 have been forced to bring their new single Electrical Storm out two weeks early.

The single has been all over the internet since singer Bono gave a demo to Radio 1 DJ Sarah HB as a wedding present and she played it on her show.

Now record bosses have brought their release plans forward by two weeks after the unplanned preview drove fans into a frenzy.

A spokeswoman for the band said: "Things had to be brought forward by about a fortnight."

The track was inspired by the aftermath of September 11.
