U2's Tribute to The Ramones...

Posted on Thursday, August 22 @ 08:00:30 CEST by Macphisto
-----------------------------------------------

(Showbiz Ireland) -- Mega rock stars U2, have signed up to perform on a tribute album to legendary rockers, The Ramones.

They will perform a cover of The Ramones' hit Beat on the Brat. The album, due for release on November 5, also includes Metallica, Marlyn Manson, Garbage and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

In the past, U2 have said that The Ramones were a big influence when they were beginning their musical careers. Last year Bono paid tribute to band front man Joey Ramone when he died of cancer.

The track list for the album will include hits such as I Wanna be sedated and Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio.

It will be titled We're a Happy Family.

Meanwhile, Irish rock group, Ash, have had a lucky escape after their tour bus was involved in a crash in America.

Drummer Rick McMurray suffered broken ribs as the bus flipped over on a freeway as they were en route to Detroit.

Other bandmembers Tim Wheeler, Mark Hamilton and Charlotte Hatherly were unhurt.

The band have not canceled forthcoming appearances at music festivals in the UK this weekend.
