(ShowBiz Ireland) -- Electric Storm is to be the new single by world famous Irish rockers U2 and fans are already exited anticipation.
The report says that the band finished recording their new album, which is a greatest hits and now the band plan to release their new single on October 21st.
The song which is one of two new songs on the greatest hits album will be the first new material since the bands last album "all that you can't leave behind" last year.
The song and the new album will be released to radio on September 20th.
The album will feature 17 tracks from 1990 to 2000 and be based on four of the bands top albums.
It will include songs such as Miss Sarajevo recorded with Luciano Pavarotti as well as a bonus CD for the first week featuring the B-sides of a new of songs.
The news was announced yesterday in Ireland's Star newspaper.
Meanwhile U2 guitarist The Edge made a surprise appearance for a number of inner city children during their music graduations in Dublin at the weekend.
