(Ananova.com) -- Bono is travelling to Africa to see the effects of poverty and Aids.
He will accompany US Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill on the trip in April.
The visit is part of Bono's campaigns against Aids and third world debt.
O'Neill said of Bono: "This is a person who has invested enough of his own time and energy to learn about and go see on the ground what life is like."
During the World Economic Forum in New York last month, Bono and O'Neill took to the stage in a debate over foreign aid to developing countries, NME.COM reports.
