U2's Thoughts On Super Bowl, Bono Hits N.Y. Economic Concert

(Launch.com) -- U2 is in New Orleans getting ready for its set at halftime of the Super Bowl this Sunday (February 3). At press time there was no word as to the band's set list for the game. The Super Bowl features the American Football Conference champions the New England Patriots versus the National Football Conference champions the St. Louis Rams, and the Irish band wasn't at a loss for commentary.
"This is a lot of nonsense about [Tom] Brady and [Drew] Bledsoe," said the Edge in reference to the Patriots quarterback controversy at a press conference in New Orleans on Wednesday (January 30). "We are not here to add to that travesty, but I will say this, Bledsoe has a superior long pass and Brady has a sore ankle."
U2 vocalist Bono added, "We are here to bring peace to Brady and Bledsoe, to bring peace to the A.F.L. and the N.F.L. That's our mission."
Bono flew to New York City Thursday (January 31) to perform at a concert for the Economic Forum at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Others scheduled to attend the concert included Peter Gabriel, Lauryn Hill, India.Arie, and others.
